FlowCode is quite a nice package, lots better than the free Great Cow BASIC (http://gcbasic.sourceforge.net/ ), which I knew before. The different prebuilt blocks as for instance for USB communications, makes the life a lot easier, besides the fact is graphical programming. You can add C or ASM code between without problem or you can switch from graphical interface to pure C.
Usually is not a headache to set-up the oscillator in FlowCode, but for me particularly PIC18F4550 seemed a small challenge, not being  a daily microcontroller programmer. I just have an aside project, from time to time, beside my main duties.
 
Reading one more time all the good information posted by “pcbbc”, I realized that where I mentioned (marked C), it is in fact specified by him (5.1 and 5.2) and therefore I attach here a label correction to the diagrams with (C1 and C2).
